About Your Counselor

I am so happy to meet you!   I have always enjoyed helping people find hope.  I encourage you to get the help you so deserve.
My credentials are a Masters of Arts Degree in Counseling, Board Certified Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. 

 I have always loved to work with people, helping them find hope in life. I taught gymnastics, starting  at age 15, for 15 years. I began to love science in college; hence, my  first career was teaching teens about science. In the 1980’s, I attended  UTSA where I earned a B. S. in Health Education and a Lifetime Teacher  Certification in Composite Science.  

After teaching for 12 years, I went back to school and received my M.A. in Counseling at Wayland Baptist University.   While a student and serving as a school counselor, I was able to provide hope to several middle school students with their struggles.  I even had the opportunity to lead a group of troubled students at a local rehabilitation facility.  I helped individuals, couples and families at Bandera Road City Church, Abiding Hope Christian Counseling, and the Strong Foundation. 

As I look back over my life, I have always focused on hope and enjoyed helping others find hope.  I will not judge you because of your beliefs or lifestyles, but will help you to live out your hope in healthy expressions through your mind, body, and spirit.   My current aspiration is to help you find hope in your life, where you are the leader and master of your fate.  I am here to help, guide and direct you in discovering your hope.

My future hope is to be remembered as a faithful and encouraging person who has enabled people to find hope during the difficult challenges of their life.

I believe in a holistic approach to counseling, that is our mind, body, and spirit are connected.  I believe that each part of us affects the other areas of our life.  I am open to faith expressions in counseling.
